Micro Rings
Micro ring hair extensions are attached to the natural hair using small metal beads. Using a loop, strand by strand, small sections of hair are threaded into the rings, the extension is then inserted into the ring before it is clamped tight to the natural hair keeping it in place. This method is very comfortable for the client and can last up to 12 weeks before needing maintenance. This is a very popular method of hair extension as it causes no damage to the natural hair whatsoever if it is installed and maintained correctly. The hair extensions can be reused at each maintenance saving the client money in the long run having to buy new hair every time they grow down. The micro rings that are now available on the market are extremely small and undetectable to clients, even allowing them to wear their hair up and not limiting them with different hair styles.
Nano Rings
Nano ring hair extensions are attached to the natural hair using tiny metal beads. Nano rings are much smaller than micro rings as they are attached to smaller sections of natural hair, this does mean they need maintaining slightly more regularly than micro rings however they are much smaller, so a lot of clients prefer this method.
Invisi Weave
The Invisi weave, more commonly known as the LA weave, is a great method for clients wanting to achieve lots of thickness with their hair extensions. They can be used on their own or with other methods to mix and match. This method is attached to the hair using a row of micro rings along the hair in a row. The weft of hair extensions is then sewn around the micro rings using a needle and thread. The rings are sewn on the inside of the weft making them completely undetectable. This method is very secure and comfortable for the client, and can be used to create the most thickness and volume out of all the methods. The wefts can be doubled up so you can fit lots of hair extensions into one row. They need maintaining every 10-12 weeks, but the hair can be reused so it is very cost effective for the client.
Micro Weft
This method is great for adding thickness on more of a temporary basis. A weft of hair extensions is attached by small sections of micro rings being clamped to the natural hair. The micro weft can last 6-8 weeks and can be removed easily by the client themselves. It is a perfect method for clients that need an alternative to clip in extensions. They can be damaging for the hair and will come out after one use. This method can be used for weekends away, holidays, weddings or events, but the client can keep reusing the weft again and again each time they desire the added thickness again. It is extremely quick to fit a micro weft so this can be added on at the end of a colour or cut service. For an extra 20/30 minutes they can have nice long, thick hair every time they require.

Pre Bonded
This method has always been one of the most popular methods of hair extensions on the market. A pre-bonded piece of hair extensions is melted and rolled into a little tube around the natural hair, creating a neat opaque glue bond that sits undetected at the root of the hair. This is longest lasting method for the client which requires much less maintenance than the other methods. Clients can get up to 14 weeks use out of the pre bonded method providing they are being looked after correctly. This method can be used to create lots of thickness for the client and are great for creating bespoke colour matches for individuality. This method is slightly more pricey to maintain as the process is longer than some other methods, however most clients don’t mind this as it is still one of the most popular methods of hair extensions out there!
Tape Ins
This method is attached to the hair using a small pre-glued strip, which is sandwiched together and clamped on to the natural hair. By far the quickest method of hair extensions! A full head can be fitted in 40 minutes! This is most often called the lunch break hair extension. Extremely efficient way of having hair extensions and not having to sit in the salon for hours. The tape in method is extremely flat to the head and very unnoticeable if fitted correctly, making this one of the most popular methods of hair extensions at the moment. You can create lots of thickness with this method as it doesn’t require a large section of hair to attach to. It makes the hair extensions look extremely natural, hence why this is a very popular method.
